parachute designer and manufacturer, Irvin's parachute designs are constantly

- "Fabric
Fit"
We continue to apply the latest and most modern fabric for optimized
"fabric fit"-weight, aerodynamic and structural performance
enhancement. We pick the best and right fabric for your application.
- Hybrid
Sail
Our Hybrid Sail technology provides a range of new parachute designs
that are high-drag, soft opening, and highly stable.
- Material
Development
We track and develop emerging materials, assuring both the most current
material knowledge and related weight performance. As the expert in
parachute design, we are current on all modern materials and routinely
work with Nylon, Kevlar®, Spectra®, and Vectran®.
- Component
Design
Irvin's in-house design of the parachute and all related hardware, cutters,
deployment devices, electronic control and mounting structure of all
fabric components ensures a best of class system solution.

Parachute Flight
Regular innovations occur in parachute design through design experience.
Irvin's application of fully coupled Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, often referred to as
Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) provide leadership in analysis and
understanding the essential elements of parachute flight.

The application of best-of-class simulation software by our engineers
provides analysis and the most advanced insight into system performance
and resulting design solutions. Using these FSI simulations, Irvin gains
significant insight into the parachute flow-field and gives the parachute
design engineers the ability to deliver innovative designs for desired
characteristics.

Know-How
Design know-how delivers innovation in parachute design. Irvin is unsurpassed
in parachute design knowledge. This knowledge allows the rapid selection
of the correct parachute design for the application. Parachute performance
is matched to both the required application and the flight envelope.

in Simulation Capability
Irvin Aerospace is the world leader in the simulation of inflatable
structures and regularly interacts with software providers for new and
enhanced features. Irvin has successfully used these simulation tools
to predict random gliding motion of a variety of troop-class parachutes.
These results compare favorably with flight test results. Further adding
to Irvin's simulation innovation is the Company's ability to complete
Monte Carlo simulations of parachute trajectories and compute buoyancy
flotation moments for vehicles / float combinations within a variety
of environments.
