Irvin Aerospace has recently made substantial investment in its manufacturing facility with resulting state-of-the-art capabilities. Advantages that our customers now realize include:

The Irvin manufacturing facility includes over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing floor area and with its state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities closely supports the engineering efforts for efficient long and short runs of a wide range of parachutes and systems. The integration of engineering design and parachute systems manufacturing under one roof is unique in the industry and delivers rapid development that is of great benefit to our customers. Irvin's manufacturing operations are flexible, capable of fast set-up to produce any system component. All fabric components are manufactured in house. New, computer controlled sewing stations increase productivity and provide consistent, high quality production. Irvin Aerospace has all the necessary equipment to manufacture parachute systems and their component parts to any long or short run requirements. There are approximately 500 sewing machines of various gauge types, classes and automatic/manual multi-needle stitching capabilities, automatic webbing cutters, special seam folders, stencil/silk-screening equipment that can be utilized in the plant. Irvin Aerospace also has the necessary resources to meet contract obligations during peak periods. We employ a large manufacturing workforce of production, rigger, service and quality assurance personnel.

A facility-wide financial and management information system—the Deltek Costpoint system has been implemented, in part, for its compliance with government cost accounting practices.

Additional manufacturing capabilities include:

• Radio frequency bonding

Irvin has established and maintains a Quality Management System (QMS) that is certified to the requirements of ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001:2000 with the aim of consistently providing product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements as well as enhancing customer satisfaction through the effective application of process approach based management.

The manufacturing process, experienced team and a demanding QA process ensures that quality product, meeting or exceeding specifications, is delivered every time. QA laboratory and test facilities are an integral part of the Irvin manufacturing operations. Irvin also partners with several well-known best-of-class test facilities.
