For more than 85 years, Irvin Aerospace has been inventing the future of parachutes and setting the standard for parachute technology. A great deal of the future we deliver to you, our customers, is based on our past experience and the knowledge that lives within the Irvin team. As the world's first parachute designer and manufacturer, we have hundreds of man years of experience with parachute design. This knowledge base enables the rapid, cost effective selection of the correct design for the application or design requirement.

When the Company was founded in 1919, we did not have computers, we just had people; our designs and planning were developed using pencil and paper. We now have and apply the latest state-of-the-art technology. But our services still revolve around the experience, commitment, and pride of the Irvin team. We have simplified complicated engineering requirements and helped hundreds of companies achieve solutions to critical delivery, launch, and recovery needs—and given thousands of individuals the capability to "land safely". We are proud of the many communications received over the years from pilots and soldiers expressing thanks. A favorite of mine hangs in our lobby—"Airplane failed, chute worked", Doolittle.
